A wedding to remember...
My first wedding of 2024 did not disappoint. I had the most perfect couple and day for a wedding. Thane and Catalina are the sweetest couple you will ever meet and you can feel their love for each other even through a photo, but being around them you just know their love will last a lifetime. Plus they are so fun to be around! The weather was on point for the big day and that lessens the stress of any wedding day. Also, with the backdrop of The Mill you also cannot go wrong. Their property is breathtaking.
Now, I'm going to share three highlights from the day that I will never forget that made this day and couple truly unique and memorable. Maybe I'm corny, but I haven't seen it done yet in person only on Pinterest. First one on the list, these two wrote messages to each other on the bottoms of their shoes... how stinkin' adorable is that?! Just me? Can't be just me. See photos below.
Second, I really loved how Thane and Catalina included their own traditions. One that really stuck out was the Arras or wedding coins, a latin wedding tradition. This happens after the exchange of vows and blessing of the rings. In the traditional arras giving and meaning, the groom gives the bride 13 coins as a promise that he will provide for the family and share all his treasure with her. They included their grandmothers in the blessings as well. Honestly, blew me away. This is so unique and special.
Third, when Thane and Catalina told me they were taking dance lesson's for their first dance I think I did a small happy dance inside. How cool is this?! I remember they sent me a video of them dancing so I could see how many lifts there were. These two nailed it! On the wedding day it made their first dance that much more special and the photos turned out gorgeous(again see photos below). Another unique touch added to their day.
